About
About Trend Cricket
Free calculators for the numbers cricket followers argue about: run rates, net run rate, strike rates, economy rates and the overs sums behind all of them.
What it is
Trend Cricket is five calculators on one site: run rate, net run rate with a points table, strike rate and batting average, bowling economy and an overs to balls converter. Each one takes overs the way a scoreboard writes them (16.4 is 16 overs and 4 balls) and does its sums in balls, which is where most hand-worked run rates go wrong.
How it works
Everything is worked out by the page itself, in your browser. There are no accounts and nothing you type is sent to a server. The net run rate page keeps your matches and points table in your browser's local storage so they are still there next time; the privacy page has the details.
Where the rules come from
The overs, scoring and net run rate rules follow the ICC's published playing conditions and the MCC Laws of Cricket, and each page names the clauses it relies on. Local leagues sometimes use their own points or tie-break rules, so the points table lets you change the points for a win, a tie and a no result.
Trend Cricket is an independent hobby site. It is not connected with the ICC, the MCC or any team, league or broadcaster, and the example teams on the net run rate page are made up.
